In 2010, Trip Shaw began the journey that is Four Corners Farm. Today, he and his wife Adriana continue to expand their offerings. Over the years, much emphasis has been placed on reclamation and improvement of the land.
Prior to Four Corners, the property was owned by the Joyner family. It had been used for corn silage production annually for 30 years or more.
Before that it was part of Albert’s Potato Farm, a very large-scale farm that owned many acres in Western Massachusetts as well as other states along the East Coast.
In light of past heavy agricultural use and less focused view of previous owners on best agricultural methods, Four Corners Farm has a purposeful focus on building soil health. To that end the Farm uses cover cropping, crop rotation, reduced tillage, and other best practices.
